Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act One[edit | edit source]

Xavier can be found perched in his nest. If approaching without Speak with Animals Speak with Animals and being spotted, Xavier and his mother immediately screech and prepare to attack the party, unless the talking party member passes an animal handling check:

  • [ANIMAL HANDLING] Turn away from the eagle as you approach, indicating that you are not interested in its nest. (DC 18)

If using Speak with Animals, the Ancient Giant Eagle calls the party intruders and tells Xavier to get behind her. The talking party member can then attempt to persuade her that they are only interested in the big device behind her:

  • [PERSUASION] I'm just interested in the big device, I promise to not meddle with the nest. (DC 15)

Failing to pass a check results in the eagles attacking the party.
