Involvement[edit | edit source]
After meeting Lora and progressing her quest to Auntie Ethel in the Blushing Mermaid. Ethel has eaten Vanra and is planning to let her stew in her belly until she has absorbed enough power to become a hag herself.
, the party can rescue Vanra fromKilling Ethel also kills Vanra unless steps are taken to prevent it. One way to do so is to craft the Hag's Bane using ingredients and a recipe acquired from a safe in Old Garlow's Place. This potion causes Ethel to become and safely throw up Vanra. Alternatively, toggling and using unarmed or melee weapon attacks to knock Ethel unconscious allows the party to cut her open and free Vanra.
Vanra is incredibly traumatized by this experience, quivering and calling for her 'mummy'. After a brief dialogue with the party she runs off to Lora's House where she can be found with her mother at the end of the quest.
All of this only occurs if Ethel was denied access to Mayrina in Act One. Otherwise, Lora and Vanra can be found at their house in the Lower City and have little to say other than berating the party for barging into their home.
