Dammon is a tiefling blacksmith and trader who fled Elturel with a group of tiefling refugees.

I'm shocked by my good fortune, quite honestly. Rent is fair, and the setup is just what I need to start making a living again.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Dammon can be first met with the other refugees, hiding in the druid settlement at the Emerald Grove. He describes himself as a "bread-and-butter tinsmith" before the events of Descent into Avernus and Elturel being pulled into the Hells.

A few of his lines of dialogue reveal that, after Elturel's fall, Dammon spent a fair amount of time in the Hells working with Infernal machinery. He mentions that his captors were vicious, but thought him useful; they drafted him to an Infernal forge as a blacksmith. This is where much of his knowledge of Infernal metals comes from.

If surviving throughout the story, Dammon can be found at several locations from Act One till Act Three. As the only merchant reliably accessible through all three acts, he is an excellent candidate for an early investment in good attitude. He is found at:

Fixing Karlach's heart[edit | edit source]

As Dammon is the only infernal mechanic in the game, he is part of Karlach Karlach's personal quest quest. It cannot be progressed any further if Dammon is killed by any means before its completion.

Creating special equipment[edit | edit source]

Dammon can use Devilfoil Masks and Infernal Iron, which the party can find on their adventures to create unique equipment:[1]

After Dammon has crafted all of the pieces of the Helldusk set at least once, there will no longer be the option of trading in any additional Infernal Iron or Infernal Alloy to him.

Notes and References[edit | edit source]

  1. Normally, asking Dammon to create Flawed Helldusk Armour, the Flawed Helldusk Helmet or Flawed Helldusk Gloves requires a piece of Infernal Iron. However, there is currently a bug in the game where, if selecting the conversation option, "I found this metal in a place called Grymforge - what do you make of it?", Dammon forges a Flawed Helldusk item without taking a piece of Infernal Iron away from the player character's inventory.
