Heart of the Storm: Lightning is a Storm Sorcery Sorcerer free reaction, part of Heart of the Storm, that creates a storm that deals half your Sorcerer level, rounded down, when you cast a lightning spell.

Description

When you cast a spell that deals Lightning damage, you cause a small, local storm. All enemies within 6 m / 20 ft take (Sorcerer level / 2)Lightning damage.

  •  Chromatic Orb: Lightning
  •  Glyph of Warding: Lightning
  •  Lightning Arrow
  •  Lightning Bolt
  •  Shocking Grasp including through  War Caster: Opportunity Spell
  •  Witch Bolt /  Activate Witch Bolt
• Additionally, the following non-damaging spells can also trigger this reaction:
  •  Bolts of Doom
  •  Conjure Elemental: Air Elemental
  •  Conjure Elemental: Air Myrmidon
  •  Planar Ally: Djinni
• Any other spell will not trigger this reaction, including spells which deal Lightning damage through effects like  Lightning Charges.

Bugs

• Despite its in-game tooltip stating otherwise, Heart of the Storm activates on cantrips.
