Harper Freddo is a lightfoot halfling druid and a member of the Harpers in Act Three. He joins Jaheira Jaheira in the battle against the Dark Urge, should the latter choose to accept and embrace their heritage.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Temple of Bhaal[edit | edit source]

Should the Dark Urge defeat Orin Orin the Red, embrace Bhaal's gift and become Bhaal's Chosen, the Harpers set up an ambush at the entrance of the Temple of Bhaal, provided Jaheira Jaheira is alive.

Led by Jaheira and accompanied by Minsc Minsc (if rescued), the Harpers stand guard on the bridge leading out of the temple, preventing the party from leaving. The player character then has a brief exchange with Jaheira concerning their role as the Dark Urge and Chosen of Bhaal. Also, if Minsc is present, the Dark Urge has the ability to psionically control him into stabbing Jaheira in the back through his Mind Flayer Tadpole. Doing so immediately kills Jaheira and triggers combat with Minsc, Freddo, and the rest of the Harpers.

  • [WISDOM] Ease his confusion. Try to control him. (DC 25)

Alternatively, if the Dark Urge withdraws from Minsc's mind, Jaheira can potentially convince Gale Gale (if under 20 approval), Karlach Karlach (if under 40 approval), or Wyll Wyll (always) to turn to their side, forcing the party to kill their former companions in the ensuing fight with the Harpers.
