Oskar is first found in the [[Zhentarim Hideout]] as a captive for ransom or sale due his skill and renown as a painter in the questline [[Free the Artist]]. The player may attempt to purchase him as a slave.

If the player purchases him, and speaks to him as if he has been purchased as a slave, he will run away. 

If the player purchases him, and frees him, he asks the party for money to use along his way home.

If the player freed Oskar in Chapter One, Oskar shows up in [[Baldur's Gate]] to complete the [[Free the Artist]] questline. Note that the player does '''NOT''' need to pay the additional 200 gold when freeing Oskar in order for him to show up and continue the questline, the extra 200 gold is for changing around companion reputation.
