Oskar is first found in the [[Zhentarim Basement]] as a captive for ransom or sale due his skill and renown as a painter in the questline [[Free the Artist]]. The player may attempt to purchase him as a slave.

If the player purchases him, and speaks to him as if he has been purchased as a slave, he will run away. 

If the player purchases him, and frees him, he asks the party for money to use along his way home.

If the player freed Oskar in [[Act One]], Oskar shows up in [[Baldur's Gate]] to complete the [[Free the Artist]] questline. Note that the player does '''NOT''' need to pay the additional 200 gold when freeing Oskar in order for him to show up in [[Act Three]] and continue the questline.

Oskar may also show up during Act Three if the player ''never visits'' the [[Zhentarim Basement]] during Act One.{{Verify}}
