Destroying Shadow-Cursed Vines edit
"...shadow-cursed vine terrain cannot be destroyed by sources of Fire Damage"
I'm not sure what the precise mechanics are, but this isn't entirely true. Fire Bolt and Scorching Ray don't work, but using an Arrow of Fire or Alchemist's Fire does. Perhaps the fire damage needs to be non-magical? Sinister Stairs (talk) 05:49, 22 February 2025 (CET)
- The difference is that
Plant Growth and similar surfaces are ignitable. Any fire damage dealt to them or creatures within them will ignite the entire surface and turn it all into a
Fire surface.
- These vines will not ignite like that, but Alchemist's Fire and Arrow of Fire create a fire surface on their own. This new surface replaces the existing vine surface where the two surfaces overlap. This isn't anything specific to fire surfaces either. For example, bleeding on the vines and creating a
Blood pool will also overwrite the vine surface.
- So the gist of it is that Alchemist's Fire destroys the vines by creating a surface, not by dealing fire damage. NtCarlson (talk) 03:16, 26 February 2025 (CET)
- That makes sense, thanks. I'll try rewording the main entry accordingly. Sinister Stairs (talk) 17:27, 27 February 2025 (CET)
