Give to Astarion?

In my own game I'm having an issue where Astarion asks for the book, but the option to give it to him does not appear. I tried dismissing other party members in case they were somehow interfering, but even solo with Astarion, it doesn't show. Possibly this is because my char doesn't know he's a vampire yet? Can anyone shed light on this?

Third book page

3 saving throws passed

Trying to read the book of the Thay of course. It took me 56 tries and I was able to pass all three saving throws.Yet It still slammed shut and the quest is still marked uncompleted. I read all three pages. So what did I do wrong?

Also I could not make an account it asks for a rogues name under "more info" for a verification check andt that just pulls up the captcha page. Nothing on it mentions La'zael or any rogues. — unsigned comment by 104.174.32.174 (talk) 01:52, 5 December 2023

Hey, if you're still in act 1 or 2 you can't fully unlock the tome yet; you need to reach the lower city in act 3. See: Unlock the Ancient Tome.

As for making an account, you just need to type the answer to the question in the input box (so for e.g. the name of a rogue would probably be astarion). -Twyrine (talk) 02:27, 5 December 2023 (CET)

Laduger cleric

As a cleric of Laduger you will also get the option to embrace the darkness and get a 10 DC wisdom ability check.

Slight issue with the [ACT 3 SPOILERS] section

The curse attained by failing the DC20 roll to fully read the Necromancy of Thay is not called "Baleful Knowledge" as before, it's called "Whispers of Madness". Here's a screenshot of the curse: https://i.imgur.com/AXJjHQd.png

Protection

If Astarion is a bard and used the performance checks on the first 2 pages, he does not have his unique option for the third

Not sure about the specific details so I am hesitant to make an edit, but in my current playthrough I have Astarion as a bard, and used the performance checks because they were basically free, and I was suprised on the last page that it didn't even have the option to drink in the darkness.
