Don't wander into the dark. It's hungry.

Involvement edit

Act Two edit

Follow the Convoy edit

If reaching the Shadow-Cursed Lands through the Mountain Pass, Bedi can be found a short jog away from the entry point, on the edge of the Shadow Curse and on the lookout for potential threats. His small group of Absolutists is led by fellow half-orc Kansif Kansif, and he is joined by the goblins Vez Brawler Vez, Gronag Warrior Gronag, and Lora (goblin) Sharp-Eye Lora.

Speaking with Kansif gives the party the opportunity to initiate Follow the Convoy Follow the Convoy by playing the Spider's Lyre, which summons Kar'niss Kar'niss. The party can attack Bedi and the cultists or follow the convoy to Moonrise Towers.

Ambush edit

Following the cultists takes them and the party through the Ruined Battlefield, where a nearby group of Harpers lay in wait to ambush the convoy in an attempt to acquire Kar'niss' Moonlantern. The Harpers immediately attack the convoy on sight, but momentarily give the party a chance to change sides and attack Kansif and the other cultists, which advances Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse. Otherwise, siding with the Absolutists allows the party to Infiltrate Moonrise Towers Infiltrate Moonrise Towers, while siding with the Harpers leads to Bedi's death and has Branthos Branthos refer the party to Last Light Inn.

Alternatively, if reaching the Shadow-Cursed Lands through Grymforge, the party encounter Bedi and the convoy for the first time mid-transit, with or without a Harper escort. The party can either ambush the convoy and seize the Moonlantern, let them pass, or convince Kar'niss to give them the Moonlantern. If waiting a little longer before attacking, Kar'niss slays Lora for venturing towards where the party and Harpers are hiding.

Convincing the cultists to part with the Moonlantern results in them walking into the Shadow Curse, only to be found later in the center of Reithwin as Shadow-Cursed Undead Shadow-Cursed Undead. They are automatically hostile to the party in this form and cannot be interacted with other than attacking.

Arriving at Moonrise Towers edit

If sided with and alive, Bedi arrives alongside the party at Moonrise, where Kar'niss departs. Bedi remains in the towers' quarters, alongside Kansif and the goblins. Talking with Bedi has him disdainfully ridicule the state of Moonrise Towers, unimpressed and seeing it unfit for the Absolute.[1] Although, he shows rabid eagerness in invading Baldur's Gate in Her name.[2]

Bedi tends to voice his thoughts out loud, making disrespectful remarks towards Ketheric Thorm General Thorm, to which Kansif berates him and tells him to guard his tongue.[3]

Notes edit

  • Devnotes denote Bedi to be a relatively new recruit that does not guard his tongue well. This is in contrast to Kansif, who is said to be a solemn leader, and a stoic, honourable half-orc.[4][5]
