Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Early in Act Three, Vlaakith Vlaakith appears to the party during the Long Rest upon entering Rivington in the form of an astral projection and demands that Lae'zel Lae'zel kill Orpheus Orpheus, promising to anoint her as her Chosen.

Otherwise, Lae'zel has the option to turn her down, and continue with the quest The Prince of the Comet The Prince of the Comet. Depending on how previous events concerning this part of the plot unfolded earlier in the game (e.g., both learning the truth about Orpheus from Voss Voss and being betrayed by Vlaakith upon exiting the Astral Prism at the Crèche Y'llek), Lae'zel may automatically refuse her demands - without any intervention by the player character.

If Lae'zel refuses, no actual consequences occur, although Vlaakith threatens that she will be hunted down by her dragon-riding warriors. The sub-quest may be resolved in the final episodes of the game, when the party gains access inside the Astral Prism, or after the fight with the Netherbrain Netherbrain.

However, Lae'zel can be convinced ( DC 30 Persuasion or Wisdom check) to change her mind again. In this case, another sub-quest Vlaakith's Will Vlaakith's Will is initiated instead.
