Duergar Spore Servant is a creature found in the Act One.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Duergar Spore Servants can be encountered in the Ebonlake Grotto of the Underdark region only. They are duergar who attacked the Myconid colony in the grotto, died in the process, and were later reanimated by Myconids through their Animating Spores Animating Spores ability.

Brought back from the dead, they implicitly obey the myconids' sovereign (the colony leader) and defend the colony inhabitants against any threat.

This Spore Servant guards the main entrance to the myconid colony and can be spoken to. However, it does not respond, and its reactions are simply described by the Narrator.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • While the Duergar Spore Servants are obviously a subkind of undead creatures, they inherit all the stats and feats of the living creature they once were, and additionally obtain Fire Vulnerability from their new state. Also, their portrait does not change.
  • Despite formerly belonging to the duergar, this particular creature does not have their racial resiliences (neither dwarven nor duergar).
