Duellist's Prerogative

Duellist's Prerogative is a legendary +3 Rapier that grants the wielder a greater chance of critical hits, and an extra reaction provided their off-hand is empty. The wielder can also use a reaction to grant additional Necrotic damage on a hit.

A blade gifted to Lora by her own mother, Lenore the Fleet. When challenged to duels, Lenore's opponents assumed she had received this nickname from some naval exploit. They found out how wrong they were when her blade blurred faster than the eye could follow.

Special

The holder of this item gains:

Challenge to Duel (): Challenge an enemy to attack only you, inflicting Bleeding on the target.

Elegant Duellist: While your off-hand is empty, you score a Critical Hit when rolling a 19. Moreover, you gain an additional  Reaction per turn.

Withering Cut: On a hit with a melee weapon, use a  Reaction to deal additional Necrotic damage equal to your Proficiency Bonus.

Weapon actions

If you have proficiency, equip in main hand to gain:

Flourish (): Feint an attack to possibly throw your opponent Off Balance. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

Piercing Strike (): Stab an enemy and possibly inflict Gaping Wounds. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

Weakening Strike (): Target an enemy's hands with a non-lethal attack and possibly inflict Weak Grip. ( Recharge: Short rest.)

Special weapon actions

This weapon also grants the following:

Dueller's Enthusiasm (): While you are not dual-wielding and your off hand is empty, you can make an additional melee attack with The Dueller. ( Recharge: Per turn.)

Wearing an offhand weapon or a shield disables Elegant Duellist and Dueller's Enthusiasm.
Lora does not reward the party with the Duelist's Prerogative if the quest Save Vanra is not picked up prior to freeing Vanra from the Hag's Lair; she must first be spoken with at the Basilisk Gate Barracks to receive this item.
Although not explicitly stated as with most other critical threshold reducing items, the critical hit reduction provided here stacks with all other sources (of increased critical hit range).
Although Challenge to Duel is described as a spell and not as a weapon action, it still receives a bonus from the Heightened Manoeuvre passive feature.
