Jaheira Approves

Jaheira favors direct approaches and is not interested in flattery. She loves snarky jokes even at her own expense. She approves of good deeds no matter how small they are.

Depending on their approval rating, Jaheira may greet the player with:

Act Three

Act 3 Spoilers! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.

Rivington

• Volunteer a companion, including her, to Dribbles' show
• If going on stage with Dribbles yourself, say you're special because you treat the people around you with kindness ( +1)
• Tell Fist Rowan "They're innocent people. You can't just kill them!"
• Tell Tinker Nayzeem that the way people treat refugees is terrible.
• As a Baldurian, tell Saer Grotpoll that his accent sounds more Rivington than Baldur's Gate ( +1)
• Try to help the Dying Stone Lord Thug ( +1)
• Donate 500 gold for refugees to Nestor.
• As a Ranger, Tell Fortuno Dibbs to relax for Biscotti.
• Take the Cursed Monk's curse and withstand it.
• Tell Tara to stop eating the carrier pigeons
• Tell Commander Lightfeather that his soldiers fought to the last feather against a truly formidable foe.
• Persuade Angry Mar'hyah (found near the post office) to let you keep Scratch.
• Deceive Angry Mar'hyah about animal abuse rules.
• Intimidate Angry Mar'hyah into leaving her job. (Approval on both checks)
• Pick "I do all I can to keep my loved ones safe from my blade" in the first dialogue with Gyldro Angleiron the Smith.
• Consent to be arrested by the Steel Watcher at the gate between Rivington and Wyrm's Crossing.
• Tell Wulbren you'll visit the Gondians and maybe they'll see reason.

Wyrm's Crossing

• Agree with Adventurer Drim at the Fraygo's Flophouse that people don't respect adventurers anymore.
• Reject the Deal with the Gnomes quest from Falcäo.  +1
• Get into Wyrm's Rock by showing the Admission Pass at the gate.  +1
• Successfully probe Jaheira's thoughts for direction when talking to Harper Chelvin.

Danthelon's Dancing Axe

• During The High Harper
  • Succeed an Insight check when meeting Geraldus and attack or wait for Jaheira's signal.  +2
  • Choose the Sorcerer dialogue option after succeeding the Insight check
  • Take Geraldus's side after the fight.  +10
• Agree to find Minsc right away

Open Hand Temple

• Offer to help Sister Yannis investigate Brilgor's death and prove his innocence.
• Resist the madness when accepting the monk's curse after delivering his amulet.

Carm's Garm

• Tell Naaber "Correct. But nobody likes Naaber", when he's pretending to be a dog.

Wyrm's Rock Fortress

• Give Fist Reynash 300 gold to flee.  +1
• Convince the Flaming Fist quartermaster Arkleia Oloril to trade by using Detect Thoughts.
• When asked your opinion about the Steel Watch, tell to Lord Amber's bodyguard and the attendants of Lady Durinbold and Lord Shattershield that you have seen the army of the Absolute and that no where's safe, Steel Watch or not.
• Say that you should not trust the Steel Watchers because they will turn on everyone while talking to Lord Amber's Bodyguard, Lady Durinbold's Attendant and Lord Shattershield's Attendant.  +1
• Use the Baldurian option when talking to Duke Ravengard right after Gortash's inauguration, wondering what has befallen the city's great hero.

Guildhall

• When talking with Nine-Fingers Keene the first time, say you are Jaheira's friend.  +1
• When talking with Nine-Fingers Keene, in the same conversation as above, say Jaheira is not alone.  +1
• When talking with Nine-Fingers Keene with Minsc in the party, Minsc will see her as an enemy and attack, succeed any check (Insight/Intimidation/Persuasion) to convince Minsc that she isn't an enemy.  +10

Lower City

• X: -166 Y: -75 Play with the children.

• Requires Perception Check DC 7, spot Cinnamon's "Spy Candy".  +1
• Allow Punkins to scan you.  +1

• X: -210 Y: -165 Next to the Grey Harbour Docks portal, allow the father to go with their family by purchasing a 4th berth (1000 gold) or persuade/intimidate the captain.  +1
• Donate loads of coins to the poor woman at the front of The Counting House.  +1

Elerrathin's Home

• Tell Rion to listen to her mother.
• Tell Rion to help the refugees.
• Tell Jaheira it was foolish to keep her family a secret.
• Tell Jaheira you understand her choice to keep her family a secret.
• Tell Jaheira she chose to keep her family secret was because she's afraid of Rion.

Cloister of Sombre Embrace

• After fighting the Sharrans with Shadowheart, spare Viconia DeVir.  +5

Abandoned Cistern

• Free Minsc from the Absolute's influence.  +20

Water Queen's House

• Offer a tribute or a positive prayer for the death of Holli Dylford to Allandra Grey.  +1

Dark Urge

• Refuse your father's gift.  +10

Camp/Conversation

• When you ask about her past experiences with the Dead Three and when she has answered as your wise and wizened elder, say "Please. You're only one of those things."
• Tell her, "Who are you speaking to? Maybe I'm the parasite, puppeting this body," while asking about her past.
• Tell her, "My mind is still my own," while asking her what she knows about Illithids.
• After the event at Danthelon's Dancing Axe, agree to look for Minsc.
• After reaching Lower City, ask whether or not she is interested in Gortash's offer.
• Call her ancient
• Say that Orin is trying to make you paranoid (Nature check required)
• When talking about the amulet you found in her home, talk about Khalid and then tell her that "He sounds like he had true strength"  +5
• Tell her that her experience will be an asset.
• Tease her to keep up.
• Encourage Lae'zel to renounce Vlaakith once and for all.
• After agreeing to an alliance with Gortash, agree with her that Gortash needs to be taken care of but that they agreed to deal with Orin first.

• (As the Dark Urge) Ask her to tell you what you must do when she says she has found a better way in another time.

Disapproval

The following story and dialogue choices will cause Jaheira to lose approval.

• Say "All hail the High Harper!" when you chose her as Dribbles' assistant.
• Refuse to be arrested by the Steel Watcher at the gate between Rivington and Wyrm's Crossing.
• Tell Wulbren that you'll only do it your way and refuse to take the Runepowder Bomb.

Wyrm's Crossing

• Accept the Deal with the Gnomes quest from Manip Falcäo  -1

Sharess' Caress

• Try Hoots Hooligan's special hooch at Sharess' Caress.

Lower City

• Tell Rion "We're all going to die" when asked about their chances against the Cult.

Dark Urge

• Accept your father's gift.  -∞ Leaves the party and becomes hostile.
