Save Grisly edit
The true Grisly can be found in Ethel's lair in The Blushing Mermaid - Basement, enthralled by a Whispering Mask accompanied by Mask of Vengeance, Mask of Terror and Mask of Servitude. While Ethel lives, Grisly is hostile on sight. If the party permanently dispatch Ethel and her Pearlspore Bells, Grisly comes to her senses and thanks the party for saving her, granting the inspiration to party members with the Sage background.
According to a Ransom Note, Auntie Ethel blackmailed Grisly into wearing the mask by kidnapping Grisly's beloved Bosun Gannet.
No Ethel edit
Auntie Ethel does not appear in Act Three if she remained in her lair at the Sunlit Wetlands and did not abandon it. In that case, the real Captain Grisly is upstairs from the beginning and Vanra is not missing.
