Looks like you can permanently acquire Shovel on up to two characters, as long as the first one is a Wizard, by summoning Shovel either before or after getting passed the mirror (but only one person may get it in a 4 person multiplayer party). If summoning Shovel before opening the mirror, you must speak to her before opening the mirror twice, otherwise causing the mirror to open will lock her in the dialogue about trust. If summoning Shovel after opening the mirror, you also need to speak to her twice in a row but unsure if it requires reading the Necromancy of Thay or just picking it up so she isn't locked into trying to trick you about the dialogue with the mirror.

article says "However, Casting Disguise Self or Shapeshift will remove your class tags, allowing sorcerers to do the first dialogue if doing it with another character is not an option."

i just tried this in honor mode as a storm sorcerer, and I still got the scared dialogue

Someone keeps removing about my note to get Shovel as a Storm/Wild Sorceror

As of the current patch, the original method to get Shovel as a familiar while being a Storm/Wild Sorceror still works - anyone other than the Storm Sorceror summons her, then speaks to her only through the dialogue about the book. Then, the Storm/Wild Sorceror speaks to her, at which point the spell shite conversation happens.

But twice now this has been removed after I have added it, by anonymous IPs saying it can't be done. Soulmata (talk) 02:14, 9 December 2024 (CET)

All Sorcerers

Shovel fears Shadow Magic Sorcerer too. but page is locked and can't update.

Admin need to add it to the list of fears or just list it as fears all Sorcerers except Draconic Bloodline

Shovel is terrified of sorcerers with the subclasses Storm Sorcery and Wild Magic because she dislikes their "thunder magic and pain". Shovel loves dragons, and a Draconic Bloodline sorcerer and / or dragonborn player character successfully convincing her they are a dragon makes her very excited

to something like

Sorcerer can still get Shovel if someone else reads the scroll.

1. When they are talking to Shovel don't say "This Illy you mentioned - who's that?"

2. When talking to her about her name, tell her to keep it as Shovel.

3. When the talking stops. Have your Sorcerer talk to Shovel, she will say: " OH, oh a spell shite! When the fisting starts, use the sparky magic to call Shovel. LET'S KILL EVERYTHING.

4. Profit. you now have the Find Familiar: Quasit
