Larger Giant Spider and their comrade, Smaller Giant Spider, are held in the spider pits in the Shattered Sanctum. The spiders want to eat the party, but the party can convince the spiders not to attack them or to divert their attacks toward the goblins instead:

Without Speak with Animals

Convincing the spiders to attack the goblins gains companion approval  +1  +1  +1 and the  A Better Offer inspiration to party members with the  Charlatan background.
