About spiders

Spiders are a type of arthropod that can create  Web surfaces.

Spiders are often kept by Drow, as familiars or mounts. The most influential drow goddess, Lolth, is also known as the Queen of Spiders. Cultures which revere Lolth forbid killing spiders.

Non-hostile Spiders can be spoken to using  Speak with Animals. A spider companion,  Aranea (Wolf Spider Companion), is available to Beast Master Rangers.
