Protection from Missiles is a level 2 abjuration spell. It protects the caster against ranged weapon attacks for up to 10 turns.

Description

Amplify your reflexes to better contend with incoming missiles. Ranged weapon attacks against you have Disadvantage, and their damage is halved.

Granted by items:

• Abdel's Trusted Shield ( Recharge: Short rest)
• Cindersnap Gloves ( Recharge: Short rest)

Notes

• The damage reduction is distinct from Resistance and stacks in a manner where multiple instances are applied sequentially (multiplicatively); each effect modifies the result of the previous one with it. For example, with  Protection from Missiles and Piercing resistance, arrows will deal one quarter damage. Usually such damage reduction is impossible since resistances cannot stack with each other.
• As of Hotfix 11, the in-game tooltip on  Cindersnap Reflexes incorrectly says the target is only protected against the next ranged attack. They will be protected by all ranged attacks while the spell is active.
