We use categories to organise articles on BG3Wiki; we use them to create category pages which group and list articles and other pages. To add a category to an article, simply link to it: Category:Example.

Category names[edit]

It is important to name categories correctly. Category names should be clear, follow correct capitalisation, terminology and number conventions.

  • Articles should be named clearly and unambiguously.
    • They should be worded in such a way that they can be immediately understood without visiting the category itself.
    • The name should be independent of any parent or child categories – it should be able to stand on its own as its own category.
  • Names of categories are generally given in plural.
  • Categories of lists are named using the "Category: Lists of ..." syntax, categories of sources are named using the "Category: Sources of ..." syntax.
  • Categories use the same naming conventions and capitalisation guidelines as covered by the style manual.
  • Categories of lists are named using the "Category: Lists of ..." syntax, categories of sources are named using the "Category: Sources of ..." syntax.
  • Generally speaking, do not use abbreviations when naming articles.
