Involvement edit
Dirt Mounds can get discovered at various places throughout the game, if a party member succeeds a passive skill check (typically a Survival check or a Perception check). When is used on the dirt mound, a treasure chest appears after an animation showing a few seconds of digging. In order to dig a Shovel must be in the inventory of the character performing this action.
Notable places edit
- At a house between House of Healing and the road to Baldur's Gate, contains an alchemist stash filled with alchemical ingredients intended for Thisobald Thorm. The location is marked on the map after reading Research Notes and succeeding a DC 14 Intelligence check. Spotting it without the notes requires a high DC 21 Survival check.
- At the Lower City graveyard at X: 8 Y: 24, containing a kobold called Bugthimble
- At the Lower City graveyard at X: 17 Y: 24, containing Gothric Rillyn, who rewards the party in case they dig him up
- At Grey Harbour Docks of the Lower City at X: -179 Y: -101, labelled as Pile of Rotten Fish, a unique model, containing a Key to Buried Treasure and a Map to Buried Treasure which leads to another dirt mound containing treasure
Notes edit
- It is still possible to reveal a dirt mound by using dig even though the passive skill check has failed.
