Camp followers

Camp followers are characters that travel with the player’s party and often remain at camp. Unlike companions, they cannot be asked to join the party.

They usually fulfill certain roles, such as resurrecting dead players or providing lore.

  accompanies the party to the Shadow-Cursed Lands if rescued from both the Blighted Village and Grymforge.

Locations

People

• Arabella, if surviving events at the Emerald Grove in Act One, can be found in front of the House of Healing graveyard.
• Barcus Wroot must first be rescued at Moonhaven and again later at Grymforge.
• Volo can be found at the Secluded Grove, and must later be rescued from goblins at the Goblin Camp.
• Withers can be found and awakened at the Dank Crypt, but arrives at camp by himself a short ways into Act One if not found there.

Pets

• Grub can be found with Yenna in Rivington in Act Three.
• Owlbear Cub can be encountered in a cave near the entrance of Moonhaven. The party members have to enter, meet the Owlbear's mother, and then leave without killing the cub. Later, he can be found at the Goblin Camp where the player character can agree to play Chicken Chase or just persuade the goblins to release the cub. It may take some long rests for the Owlbear Cub to arrive in the camp.
• Scratch can be encountered northeast of Moonhaven.
• Tara automatically joins the party at camp if Gale is played as Origin.
