A Gargoyle Head on a wall, hightlighted as a trap

A Gargoyle Head is a type of Trap that might be encountered in various places throughout all Acts of the game.

A Gargoyle Head is an interior feature, depicting a head of said creature chiselled of stone, placed onto a wall surface. It is a common adorning piece of various dungeons, crypts or well-equipped vaults, at the same time serving as a means of defence for these places (or parts of them) from unwanted trespassers.

As a trap, the Gargoyle Head usually is triggered through a marble plate (or any other similar means) planted nearby.

Upon triggering the Gargoyle Head sends forth Fire Bolts Fire Bolts once per turn. The spell deals 2d6FireFire on the impact with any obstacle on the firing line. The only exception are Gargoyle Heads in one of the halls of the Sorcerous Vault, shooting spells similar to Arrows of Ice (2d4ColdCold).

A Gargoyle Head can be disarmed with the help of Sleight of Hand Sleight of Hand skill, but the character must have a Trap Disarm Toolkit in their inventory. Difficulty Class requirement is a DC 10 Sleight of Hand check roll.

After successful disarming, the Gargoyle Head crumbles down into a heap of stone rubble.
