Karrow

Harper Karrow is a gold dwarven ranger. He is part of a small group of Harpers on a patrol expedition to the hills east of Last Light Inn.

Involvement

Expedition

The party can first encounter Karrow in the Shadow-Cursed Lands by entering via the Grymforge lift. He is part of an expedition of Harpers led by Lassandra and consisting of Yonas, Meygan, and himself. Quickly after meeting the party and regardless of initial dialogue options, Yonas is ambushed and corrupted by Shadows, turning undead instantly after. Immediately after Yonas' demise, a battle with the ambusing Shadows begins.

If Lassandra survives the fight, she speaks with the party again and marks the Last Light Inn on their map. If both Lassandra and Meygan die in the fight, Karrow speaks with the party. However, he does not offer to mark the party's map. Instead, he instructs them to follow him to the Inn's safety.

Karrow has the tendency to seek and fight the two most distant ambushing Shadows. Also, he is the only member of the group without a light source equipped. These two issues leave him most vulnerable to the Shadow Curse and, as such, Karrow is more likely than the other Harpers, during or after the battle, to become corrupted and a  Shadow-Cursed Undead.

If entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands through the Rosymorn Monastery Trail and starting  Follow the Convoy instead, the party can, arriving at Last Light Inn, see Karrow returning to the sanctuary with Meygan, and Lassandra.

Last Light Inn

If visiting the Last Light Inn, Karrow and Meygan can be found mourning Yonas on a rocky ledge south of the docks. Provided Karrow and Meygan survive the ambush, he stands a few steps back from her, kneeling at Yonas' shrine, and observes Meygan grieving over Yonas' death.

Resolve the Abduction

When Marcus attacks the inn and attempts to kidnap Isobel during  Resolve the Abduction, Karrow is too far away from the action to provide any help in the ensuing fight. If Isobel is not saved, Karrow and everyone else at the Last Light Inn, save for Jaheira, turn into  Shadow-Cursed Undead.

Assault Moonrise Towers

Karrow, along with Lassandra, Meygan, and Mijah, does not join the assault against Absolute forces. He remains at the Last Light Inn to patrol its outskirts, before completely disappearing once Ketheric Thorm is defeated.

Notes

• Karrow, much like Meygan, Lassandra, and Yonas, are the only level 5 Harpers in Act Two.
  • All the other Harpers in Last Light Inn are level 6, except for Jaheira, who is level 8.
• Karrow has four level 1 spell slots, and two level 2 spell slots, despite having no spell to cast.
